Caelan will be three years old tomorrow. 1 can't believe it! We had her little birthday party on Monday (it was Memorial Day). Aunt Charity and Erin were in town as well as Grandpa and Grandma Dick for the holiday, so we thought we would take advantage of all the people being here. Heather and Brok and Grant and Katie also came over to celebrate. We went swimming and had a barbeque. Then Caelan opened some presents. She got a Dora doll and book from Heather and Brok. She got two pairs of sandals from Grandma and Grandpa Dick as well as a little Dory fish that can swim in the water and a cute little summer outfit. We (Mom and Dad and Dude) gave her a Dora movie and a bubble blower gun. She is at such a great age where she really gets excited about everything -even the clothes and shoes got her excited, and she wanted to try them right on. I made her a beach bear cake, which turned out pretty cute. At one point during the day Dad came in the house to find Caelan eating all ofthe little bears and candy pieces off of the cake- so we decided we better sing to her and eat the cake before she started fully digging in. She had a fun time. We went on a bike ride earlier that morning, so she was pretty happy the whole day. Now we are in the three's -out ofthe terrible 2's (maybe) -I hear that the 3's are just as fun. HE HE HE. She definitely has grown so much over the past year in her vocabulary and ability to communicate and just function on her own. She has become very ndependent. She is learning her ABC's and is getting pretty good at the basic shapes. It's amazing the things that she can remember when she wants to. It's fun to watch her grow and learn new things. She is such a joy (most ofthe time) and we just love her to pieces. Three years down -lots more to come.
