Caelan is starting to figure out how to say some words. She has been pretty fluent with "mom" and "dad," but she hasn't gone much further than that. In the past few weeks she has mastered "do" (for dog) and "ca" (for cat). She says the "C" in cat like she is trying to get phlem out of her throat. It is quite the noise. She can also say "ba" (for ball) and "du" (for duck). She is catching on to the different sounds much better these days, and she tries to copy much more of what we say (even though much of it is still impossible to discern). So, she is starting to become a real jabberwocky (with actual words). We went to Gardner Village the other day with Dan and Natalie. There is a little duck and fish pond there. Caelan was completely in awe at the ducks, and she stood on the edge of the pond and loudly yelled "du" "du" "du" over and over again. She is getting a little sassy these days also. She is really getting good at the fit throwing, but we try not to pay much attention, so they don't usually last very long at all. She is actually quite obedient. She will put stuff away when we tell her, and she stops doing things when we tell her. At night, I tell her that it is time to go to bed, and she picks up her blanket and starts walking down the hall. Pretty amazing, huh? I only give her her binkie when she is in her bed (for naps or at night), which I think helps her like the whole process a little more.
