On Thursday of this week Caelan and I went to the Relief Society Open House in Salt Lake City. It is a workshop for all RS presidencies put on by the Relief Society General Board. I sat in on the President's message and then Caelan got a little squirmy, so I took her out to the back and walked around with her. We stayed in the back for the beginning of the next class (both in the chapel of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building). I looked over at one point and a nice older woman was standing at the elevator waiting to get inside. She noticed Caelan and commented on how cute she was. She especially liked Caelan little bows on the bottom of her overalls (she was wearing a blue and while overall outfit with a trim of white ribbons on the bottom of the pants). It took a minute or so, but then I realized who it was that I was talking to. It was Sister Bonnie Parkin, the recently called Relief Society General President. So this is Caelan's first encounter with a General leader of the Church (who thinks that our little girl is quite adorable). Just thought this was an experience for the books.
