Dec 2006

This year we spent Christmas in California with the Sorensen family. The house was full, which is what we like. Caelan is at such a fun age where she understands the concept of Santa Claus coming and bringing presents (in fact she was very comfortable this year sitting on Santa's lap at the ward Christmas party and talking to him about what she wanted to Christmas - although I'm not sure what she told him). She was excited to wake up Christmas morning to her spoils. She got a new barbie house from Grandma and some books and games. Overall she was thrilled.
We had even more excitement when Charity and Chad got married in the San Diego temple the next week. We stayed to help and get things ready for the wedding (which included raiding the Christmas tree lots the day after Christmas and then staking several (like 24 or so) Christmas trees in the front yard as well as about 10 other throughout the house. Caelan was at the temple waiting with all the rest of the youngsters for the bride and groom (and the rest of us) to come out of the sealing. When Charity finally came out (...FINALLY) Caelan was in complete awe of her. She just kept staring at her and her dress. She went right up to her and wanted to touch her dress. She thought she was just beautiful. It was really sweet. We had the luncheon at Pat and Oscars (a delicious pizza and pasta place in Temecula) where all the kids loved feeding the ducks on the pond right outside. The reception was at the house. Caelan got down and partied with the rest of us. It was a wonderful vacation.
