Yesterday was Caelan's birthday party with friends. It was lots of fun: water slide, snow cones, fruit skewers, water balloons, the "donut game", cupcakes and friends (9 kids that came). We invited her entire school class, but we figured only a few would make it. I think 9 kids was the perfect amount. We splurged on the water slide (we rented one of those blow up ones - $100, I think), but it was a HUGE hit (hours of entertainment). After everyone went home I even went out and took a turn. We decided to just make cupcakes for the party, so we made them different colors and attached them to string and then to a house (like they were the balloons holding up the house in the movie, Up). Overall it was a great success. Caelan LOVED it - so it was worth every minute and penny.
(I was so preoccupied that I only applied sunscreen once to the kiddos. Poor Caelan and Ben are a little "rosy" today - it's not too bad, but I'm usually crazy with the sunscreen so they NEVER get sunburned. Now, they know why....)
