We've been thinking about getting a new van for a while now. With the baby coming we will have 4 kids, which fit fine in a minivan (a little cozy with all the boosters and carseats since they are still young), but whenever we travel (which we go fairly often) it's so cramped with all the bodies and stuff. Dad found a nice, used full-size custom van on e-bay. We won the auction at $7000. Now the only problem was that the van was in Wyoming. I couldn't go (I was due to have a baby within the next few weeks), so Dad bought a plane ticket. We drove to Vegas and stayed with the Armantrouts over night, and then I was going to take him to the airport early the next morning. We checked the flight prices the night before and they were the same as the price we paid for him to go, so at the very last minute we bought another ticket for Caelan. She flew on the airplane with Dad to Wyoming and then was his co-captain on the way home. He said she was a great travel partner. She colored and played around with all the new switches and lights (and this van has A LOT of them). They stopped at rest stops to take breaks. She chatted with him and sang to the music. She was content and happy the whole way - even when they got a flat tire. They made it back safe and sound a few days later.
