Feb 2008

We just started giving the kids chore charts. They take turns helping with the dishes and setting the table and cleaning the bathroom. The bathroom is one of Caelan's favorite jobs. She loves to spray the glass cleaner on the mirror and the counters. And it's also a good way to help the kids earn a little money and then learn about tithing.
On Feb. 10th Caelan gave her first talk in Primary. She did awesome. She practiced several times throughout the week. I printed little images on a piece of paper to help her to remember what to say. I stood up there with her, but she basically did the whole by by heart. She was pretty excited and it was so cute to see her up there in front of the Primary talking about the importance of the scriptures. It's so neat that we get a chance to public speak and teach others even as young kids in the church.
On Feb 13th Caelan and I "sneeked" over to Dad's office to decorate for Valentine's Day the next day. He had no idea. Caelan was just tickled pink at the idea of surprising her Dad with chocolates and balloons and fun love notes. I'm glad I thought to have her come along.
Unfortunately she got sick that night (she threw up in her bed) which means that she wasn't able to go to her preschool Valentine's Day party. We did stop by to drop off her Valentine's Day treats and also to pick up the ones from her friends. She thought that was grand. I made a nice dinner for all of us, and she ended up having a good day (despite the rough start).
We closed on our new house on the 15th of the month. The next day the projects began. We had all sorts of friends and family that came to help and we got a bunch done on that first day. It's a good start to get us going. The teenagers helped with the youngsters at the rental house while the adults worked at the new house.
On Feb 22nd Caelan went to a Primary activity at the church. They were practicing for the Easter pageant that they are putting on for the ward next month. She loved it - she loves being with other kids and getting to be involved with "bigger kid" stuff.
